AI And The World Of Fakeness 

  AI as we all know stands for Artificial Intelligence. One of the most talked topics at present times. Artificial Intelligence is at present a rapidly expanding and evolving field at tech sector and has many advantages specifically for the tech sector. But its reach is not limited to only Tech field, it has held its foot everywhere at the world, be it the economic field or the production industry. It's been a revolutionizing force that has taken all over the world. But with so much advancement and benefits comes an underlying disadvantage or threat from which maximum people are still unaware. The problem of authenticity which at today world is one of the most dangerous threat looming over the innocent people. Fake news has been always an underlying problem that has caused a huge damage to people both emotionally, physically and financially. Not only the common people but also the countries, the big economic giants and the world organizations have suffered through the hands of fake news and misinformation. Still at today's world it's the most neglected problem and with the advancement of Ai and the generation of fake substantial information this problem will not vanish at near future but will exceed all the boundaries set by the human beings. At today's world digital media is on its way to lead the mass communications department and the information spreads like wildfire on it and ai has helped it to expand its wings under the sky of information. However, it also raises concern about the authenticity of the information and media being shared on it. It has become immensely difficult to differentiate between authentic and fake media and information from the bunch of information's circulating in digital media. 

AI has done more harm than good at least in this field of information and media on the digital line. People may not understand it now but it's the absolute truth (for digital media). For an instance the AI generated images and videos can be so realistic that a normal being can't differentiate which is real and that's the bitter truth. The generative ai technology has both positive and negative implications on the society and world. While it can be used for enhancing your creative work or for making complicated things done or generating personalized content. At the same time the deep fake technology can be used to create false videos which can appear to be so genuine that it will become impossible to distinguish it or to check its authenticity. We live in a world where people try to enact the personality that they don't possess. They try to be the person they are not, and the introduction of the social media has increased this tendency of creating fake narrative and scenarios. And to help them do so AI has been acting like a helping hand. Today it is a matter of seconds to create any fake image narrative or scenario and spread it on social media. The people here are so ignorant that they won't even check about the authenticity before forwarding it. And this helps the unwanted elements to create nuisance around the world. 

Now the question is that how AI is used to spread the fake news and supply misinformation?

The answer is very simple. If we go into the functioning of AI, AI works by combining the large data sets with intuitive processing algorithms. These algorithms can manipulate data by learning behavior patterns within the data set given and analyze it for the generation of the program according to the needs of the algorithm designed for the specific data set. It's important to understand that AI is not a single program or data set or a single algorithm instead it is an entire machine learning system that can solve problems and suggest outcomes. 

As we understand about the AI now it's important to know how fake news and misinformation are spread. As said earlier it's very easy to manipulate any information through ai and create a false or misidentified element like image, video or any piece of news. It can also be used to create fake emails or bank accounts, links or gateways which can lead to financial fraud. The whole process of developing these false elements is very easy because of AI. So, what could be the solution to it. The solution lies with us as well as with AI. There are many AI programs which can help us to detect whether the content is original or not. A simple internet search would give us a lot of such programs which can identify the originality of the content. Moreover, it is also the duty of the people to be more cautious and careful, while consuming any information on digital media and to be more aware of the happenings around us. It is important to remember that artificial intelligence can never match the real human intelligence so we should know how to tackle this sea of misinformation and how to us AI wisely and carefully for the benefit of the mankind and its people. AI is just a tool. The brain behind this fake and misinformed world is we humans so it's better to introspect us rather than only blaming AI. The motive of writing this blog was not to blame AI or show it in a negative shade. This blog is written to make people aware about the negative usage of AI and to make them introspect themselves.
